Q. Does it take a lot of time to swipe a Commuter Card?
A. About 2-3 seconds.
Q. What if a person loses their Commuter Card?
A. They can be issued another one and begin using it right away.
Q. How does RideTrack work?
A. It uses credit-card like Commuter Cards and terminals. Employee commute behavior is sent from the terminal to us via the internet, and we provide all data processing.
Q. Can a person cheat this system?
A. Any self-reporting system relies on the honesty of employees to correctly report their commute behavior. In practice, we
find that cheating is virtually non-existent because to cheat, an employee must swipe their card and cheat
on a regular basis. This takes a 'special' and thankfully not very common kind of person!
Q. How many card readers will I need?
A. We find 2-3 card readers is sufficient for most companies, though circumstances may vary. Card readers are typically placed in locations where employees enter the workplace.
Q. Do all employees need to swipe their Commuter Cards?
A. No, only those employees who use an alternative mode of transportation and qualify for company provided incentives.
Q. What if a person swipes their Commuter Card more than once on any given day?
A. Not a problem, the system is designed to log only the last swipe on any given day.
Q. What if a person forgets to swipe their Commuter Card?
A. They lose any commute program incentive for that day.
Q. What kinds of commute modes can RideTrack log?
A. All the common modes can be tracked, such as 2, 3, 4, person carpools, vanpool, public transit, walk, bike, 7+ person vanpool, telecommute, and compressed work week day off. Also, unusual company-specific modes can be tracked.
Q. What kind of reports do I get?
A. An Excel spreadsheet is provided via email. It gives detailed information on employee participation. See bottom of page for a sample spreadsheet. Also, employees can check their own participation via a website.
Q. Will RideTrack be able to track my company's commute program?
A. In our experience, RideTrack can handle 90% of the commute programs that exist. If your company offers incentives for employee use of alternative modes of transportation, chances are RideTrack can track it.

A. You are responsible for issuing Commuter Cards.
Q. Is RideTrack expensive?
A. No, you will surprised at how affordable it is.
